Ah, the long awaited last book of the Percy Jackson series has finally been out... Okay, to say the truth, it came out like on 5 may, but I just saw it yesterday. The price tag sucks- $30!!!- but definitely worth the money, I would bet. Hmm, one more week of saving my pocket money should be sufficient in getting my hands on that book... Ooh... can't wait. The bad thing is, I have to wait another week for it. The good thing is, by the time i get my hands on that book, holidays would be in a weeks time... which means unlimited reading time!! WOO!! ( Ignore. Gone Crazy) (Not)
Here is what happaned in brief in percy jackson and the last olympian:
Percy is in the fifth book, in which a war similar to that of the Olympians and Titans ages ago is waged; he is expected to challenge Kronos. It has been both hinted that Luke had visited the river Styx to make his body a great vessel for Kronos. It has also true that Percy has visited the Styx with
Nico di Angelo to make him invincible. He takes on the curse of Achilles and ends up defeating the minotaur and almost each of Kronos' bridge attack force. His weak point is near the lower part of his back. Percy also visited Poseidon's undersea kingdom for the first time. At the end, Percy turns down immortality, preferring that new cabins be built to honor every minor god, as Tyson and some cyclops are mentioned starting on a Hecate Cabin, with Nemesis being kept in mind. He also gets together with Annabeth.
A Much more detailed happening, more like his love life with Annabeth:
Percy and Annabeth disliked each other when they first, met but soon grow fond of each other. Aphrodite has told him that they will have a 'tragic love life'. Annabeth has kissed him four times, once, after winning the chariot race in
Sea of Monsters, though that was only on the cheek, again as she leaves him to fight the telkhines at Mt. Helens in
The Battle of the Labyrinth, in the dining area of Camp Half-Blood, prior to all other campers throwing them in the canoe lake in
The Last Olympian, and finally underwater in the
The Last Olympian . Also, Annabeth is known to be jealous of Rachel, the clear-sighted mortal girl.
Annabeth seems to be hinting quite a bit that she is interested in Percy, and it seems to not matter to her that Athena does not approve of them even as just friends. In the Last Olympian, when Percy and Annabeth are inspecting the cabins, she tries to hint that she loves him, but Percy, distracted by staring at Annabeth and suddenly nervous, changes the subject, leaving Annabeth disappointed. He also finds himself staring at her and says that she is looking more mature and is becoming seriously beautiful.
When Percy goes to the River Styx he is supposed to envision the one thing that keeps him tied to the mortal world, he thinks of Annabeth pulling him out of the water at canoe lake. When Kronos is spotted, Percy order a retreat, but Annabeth stays behind to help him. She ends up taking a knife for him that would have killed him. As he sees what has happened, he becomes enraged and calls Blackjack to take her away. Percy then rushes to Annabeth and stays by her side, thus showing some love for her. When Rachel shows up in her helicopter, Annabeth saves her, but is later shown to have been crying and jealous. When Kronos is up at Olympus, Percy, Annabeth, Grover, and Thalia go up the elevator only to find that the bridge that connects Olympus to New York is shattering. Percy, Thalia, and Grover jump, but Annabeth is too weak to. She stumbles and Percy catches her. They lie together until they realize they are practically hugging. After Luke stabs himself he asks Annabeth if she loved him, but she says that she only loved him as a brother. After that, she looks up at Percy and they share a moment. When Percy is offered immortality, he looks over at Annabeth and sees that she has turned pale and won't meet his eyes. He recalls how he felt when he thought that she would join the hunters of Artemis, and due to this, turns the Gods down. They are upset at him, but he looks over at Annabeth and she has her hands over her mouth and starts crying for joy, and decides that he had made the right decision.
Later at camp, he confides to her the vision he had at the Styx and the reason he turned down immortality. He looks over at her and she is trying not to laugh as he says 'You are so not making this easy!' She laughs and tells him 'I'll never, ever let things be easy for you, Seaweed Brain,' and puts her arms around him as they share a kiss. However, eavesdropping camp mates rush forth and dump them, hand in hand, into the lake. However, as Percy is the son of Poseidon, he is able to create an under water bubble and they kiss yet again. It is signaled that they may get married by Annabeth saying she wanted build something permanent and Percy thinks about this too.
Enjoy and think about trying out the book!
